Simon has 10 Years experience in Catering Management within a Social Enterprise, and 5 years experience in Youth Work. He has Volunteer Guide experience with the National Trust for Scotland. He currently works as a Gamemaster in the entertainment industry and as an Events Assistant.
While on the final module of his BA Hons History, Simon’s also Fellow of the Antiquaries of Scotland, Community Councillor, Founder and Chair of Carrick History Society, Board Member of Ayr Archaeological and Natural History Society, Board Member of Ayrshire Federation of Historical Societies, Member of North Carrick Community Benefit Company.
He also has some experience of funding applications including the successful SCIO application for Carrick History Society. Simon has research experience and is a published author.
Simon is also active locally helping out with events and activities and have built a contact network with South Ayrshire Council’s Museum and Galleries department, the Ayrshire Archive, Local Schools as well as other historical organisations.
Alison has varied experience, much of it international, ranging from corporate event planning and organising, sales and marketing to magazine writing and editing. She’s also has a background in team theory and has worked in self directed work teams in manufacturing and product development settings.
Morag spent many years providing accounting services to smaller businesses. She’s also been Treasurer to several charities including three SCIOs, one of which involves keeping an historic building as a functioning asset for the community (Morag initiated a project to research aspects of the building’s history). She’s also written funding applications and promotional literature.
Claire has a background in technical and production management for live events. Claire studied Product Design Engineering in Glasgow while working as a technician in venues across Scotland. Claire has produced several notable events and festivals in both a freelance and voluntary capacity.
In recent years Claire has worked in the third sector, managing a local charity across all aspects of its operation.
For over ten years Claire has been a Guide and Ranger leader, and also serves on the Executive Committee for Ayrshire South as County Public Relations Advisor. Claire has also worked on projects at Regional and National Level with Girlguiding Scotland, and is leading a Rangers trip to India next year with Girlguiding Dumfries and Galloway.
Claire is passionate about supporting young people to achieve their goals, and strives for true coproduction of youth activities.
Elija has a degree in Modern History and Art History, as well as certificates in creative writing, screenwriting, and coding. Several years experience working in the theatre industry in roles ranging from playwright to assistant director and stage director. 6 years experience working in the software sector in localisation, translation (speaking 4 languages), and project management for various international gaming companies. His abilities also include website management, copywriting, and e-commerce, connected with co-founding and running his own business and online shop.
